LSVA is designed to meet your child where he or she is academically, right now.

Lone Star Virtual Academy serves all students who are seeking learning options outside of a traditional classroom. Their reasons vary. Some are pursuing a passion that requires extensive travel or long hours of practice such as athletes and performers. Others have extenuating circumstances such as being victims of bullying or having medical issues that make attending a traditional school impossible. And still others, such as children of those who are serving our country, may benefit from the flexibility and continuity LSVA offers.

Our learning activities and math pathways are geared towards career and college readiness so students are ready for their next challenge upon graduation. Our student engagement team actively participates in one-on-one work with our students to boost student interest. With the team’s input, the curriculum is tweaked to meet specific needs and give students a voice in the manner in which they learn best.

Our Key Differentiators

ubu!

You can be you: Know your strengths and leverage your interests. We encourage the individuality of every student. We provide personal learning paths designed to enhance your strengths and support your accomplishment of goals. Our program is designed asynchronously so you can school on a daily schedule that fits your needs. We provide teacher support via feedback, live lessons, small group sessions, email, text and phone.

School of one

Get the time and attention you need to succeed. We strive to create a school environment with social interactions and synchronous support while also valuing the needs of the individual. Our team values every student and takes the time to get to know them, listen, respond, and build relationships to support each unique educational journey.

Education with Destination

Let’s discover a world of work that’s right for you. We provide students with the opportunity to get foundational skills in their chosen field. Personal learning plans help students understand the importance of what they are currently doing, aligned with their strengths and interests, and how it ties into their future goals.

Family Resources

We serve learners who are seeking options outside of a traditional classroom.

Attendance

Our live instruction is 100% online-based, allowing for greater flexibility and mobility for our students and teachers.

Attendance will be taken each day and students are required to login for a total of 240 minutes each day to avoid being counted absent.

Students that reach 10 unexcused absences are at risk for being withdrawn.

Tuition

None! LSVA is a tuition-free, public school program.

learning style

LSVA is a high-quality education that is future-focused, preparing students for college and their careers. We focus on personalized learning that is geared toward the individual needs of our students. Our 6th through 12th grade virtual classrooms provide flexibility and opportunity to learn from Texas-certified teachers. Traditional brick-and-mortar schools simply don’t work for every student all the time. Lone Star Virtual Academy provides a strong alternative that supports your student on their time and in their way. Higher education online offerings are a mainstay for colleges and universities. In fact, 30% of higher education classes are now online. Additionally, technology-based careers are growing at an exponential pace.

Commitment to our Students

Like many traditional brick-and-mortar schools, most online schools are “one size fits all.” That is why we built our school to be unique and individualized! We know that each student is unique and needs personalized attention to be successful. We built a Texas virtual school with a commitment to delivering a customized educational experience to each and every student.

OUTINGS and clubs

Throughout the school year, students and families will be invited to attend  local and virtual outings in various places around the state. This is a great opportunity for our students and families to meet other families and connect with one another. In addition, LSVA has statewide clubs including robotics, dance, pen pal, make up, and travel.

Enrollment → Orientation → Online Education → Graduation

From enrollment through graduation, Lone Star Virtual Academy is there for your child to create seamless transitions. Our academic programs are modeled as “education with destination,“ which means that our curriculum can be adjusted to meet the unique skills, values and interests of your child. For example, our unique three-week enrollment process was built to assure a smooth transition for your student and your family. Once your student gets started, our expert academic teams will use multiple data points and metrics to track your child’s progress. Working closely with you, the parent, your child will have an individualized support system that meets their individual needs and supports their future goals.

As graduation nears, your student’s learning team will foster his or her future plans through mock interviews, career and college planning, workshops, resume writing and review and more. The bottom line is, we want your child to find lifelong success after graduation!
